Operation Autumn Hope

“The autumn months are never a calm time in America. Back to Work, Back to Football Practice, etc… Autumn is a very Traditional period, a time of strong Rituals and the celebrating of strange annual holidays like Halloween and Satanism and the fateful Harvest Moon, which can have ominous implications for some people…” “There is always a rash of kidnapping and abductions of schoolchildren in the football months. Preteens of both sexes are traditionally seized and grabbed off the streets by gangs of organized perverts who traditionally give them as Christmas gifts to each other to be personal sex slaves and playthings.“ - Hunter S. Thompson - Hey Rube: Blood Sport, the Bush Doctrine, and the Downward Spiral of Dumbness

45 missing children recovered during largest statewide anti-human trafficking operation in Ohio Republican Attorney General Dave Yost in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals service and local law enforcement announced 177 arrests and the recovery of 45 missing children . It is described as the most successful missing child recovery operation the Marshalls service has ever participated in. The operation called Autumn Hope, yielded 109 human trafficking victims, 45 of which were children, who were referred to social services. Yost had tweeted information regarding the arrest of a former Portsmouth city council member and attorney Michael Mearan last week.

The U.S. Marshals closed 76 missing child cases and physically recover 45 children during the operation. Following investigations, four additional children returned home and 16 others were able to be located.

A 15-year-old girl missing from Cleveland wand a 15-year-old boy with two warrants who is a suspect in multiple shootings and a homicide were also recovered.

Two more children were located by Marshals in West Virginia via data from operation Autumn Hope . These children were recovered during a traffic stop after West Virginia police were told to be on the lookout for a man with a description of the car he was driving.

Peter C. Tobin of the U.S. Marshals Service stated: “These are the same personnel who hunt down violent fugitives every day. I’m incredibly proud of them and pleased that they were able to apply those same skills to finding missing children. I know Operation Autumn Hope has made a difference in a lot of young lives.”

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said they arrested eight men who traveled to central Ohio with the intention of having sex with children.

The Mahoning County Sheriff's Office arrested 14 people who were involved in chat rooms looking for underage children. Those arrested were charged with attempted unlawful sexual conduct and attempted rape, among other sex charges.

Columbus police made 80 arrests for felony counts of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and other felony charges> One suspect was a pastor, some were students, and one was a rehabilitation resident advisor.

U.S. Marshals Deputy Chief Bradley Stewart said the rescue wouldn't have been possible without agencies throughout the state including Columbus and Cincinnati police [Defund - Really?!].

Operation Not Forgotten

From New York Post

Dozens of endangered or missing Georgia children — including 15 sex trafficking victims — were rescued during a recent two-week operation, according to officials.

“Operation Not Forgotten,” conducted in Atlanta and Macon this month, resulted in the rescue of 26 children, the safe location of 13 children and the arrest of nine criminal associates, the US Marshals Service said in a Thursday press release.

Fifteen of those children had been trafficked for sex, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, citing authorities.

Officials say they also cleared 26 arrest warrants and filed additional charges for alleged crimes related to sex trafficking, parental kidnapping, registered sex offender violations, drugs and weapons possession, and custodial interference.

In addition to the US Marshals Service Missing Child Unit, the agency’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Georgia state and local agencies were involved in the bust, officials said.

The children were considered among the most at-risk and challenging recovery cases in the area — due to indications of child sex trafficking and other high-risk factors including child exploitation, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and medical or mental health conditions, authorities said.

“When we track down fugitives, it’s a good feeling to know that we’re putting the bad guy behind bars. But that sense of accomplishment is nothing compared to finding a missing child,” said Darby Kirby, Chief of the Missing Child Unit, said in a statement.

“It’s hard to put into words what we feel when we rescue a missing child, but I can tell you that this operation has impacted every single one of us out here. We are working to protect them and get them the help they need.”

Operation Find Our Children

From Fox News

U.S. Marshals found 27 missing children following a rescue operation in Virginia, according to the Justice Department (DOJ).

The five-day law enforcement effort, dubbed “Operation Find Our Children,” was the latest in a series of operations led by the U.S. Marshals Service that helped to reunite hundreds of endangered and missing children with their legal guardians this year.

More than 60 investigators were part of the primary team led by U.S. Marshals from the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.

They collaborated with the Virginia Department of Social Services, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and a team of medical professionals.

Since 2005, the U.S. Marshals Service has recovered more than 2,000 missing children, according to the DOJ. The agency said it has recovered missing children in 75% of the cases it received over the past five years.

Hidden in plain sight: New efforts to stop child sex trafficking in America

From ABC Affiliate

WASHINGTON (SBG) — The US government is launching new efforts to stop the sex trafficking of children and teens in America. It's a hidden and often underreported crime that can take many forms and is often happening all around us.

Barbara Jean Wilson says the reality of human sex trafficking isn't like the movie "Taken," where kids are abducted from airports and foreign countries. For Wilson, it happened at home. She says she became a victim of sex trafficking at just 8 years old, when her mother sold her for sex to pay the rent. It's then, she says, she saw the face of evil.

Today, Wilson is telling her story with two books and working with numerous advocacy groups to raise awareness about a widespread criminal enterprise that trades underage sex for cash.

She's learned to spot the signs that someone has been trafficked, and she's learned how lucrative the business can be. "There's more money made in human trafficking than there is in sports betting because it's all over," Wilson told us. Some estimates claim human trafficking is a global industry worth $150 billion every year.
