Agenda 21 is a non-binding voluntary set of guidelines vomitted out of United Nations at the 1992 "Earth Summit" in Brazil, it is basically the "Green New Deal" on steroids. The "21" in Agenda 21 refers to their target year of 2021, when they were hoping to have achieved most of their goals. Obviously they haven't, and if all goes they well never will. Not that there's anything wrong with preserving natural habitats and the ecology, if that's what they're really aiming for - [what me paranoid?].
Orwells Novel '1984' written in 1949 depicted the totalitarian state he envisioned / dreaded would be in place 35 years in the future. 1984 - the year - came and went, we are now well into the 21st Century and what Orwell described is now beginning to taking place - 35 years past the target date. We can anticipate that the magniloquent totalitarian goals of the agenda 21 framers will be off by a few decades as well. They are also aware as the new improved version of agenda 21 is labeled Agenda 2030.
On its face value it is not a legally binding treaty and does not overtly infringe upon the sovereignty of any nation. Those in control claim that Agenda 21 does not advocate abolishing private property, but in actuality it advocates control of private proerty and regulation of its usage by Government over-seers, of course we all know anybody from the government is there to help and that the common man is a poor steward of 'his' land. You still get to 'own' your proerty, maintain it under the auspices of big brothers tutalage and of course pay rent property taxes for the sake of the greater good.
One of the frightening aspects of Agenda 21 is that it off handedly advocates massive population reduction. The uber-paranoid amongst us like to believe that non essential humans will be removed from rural areas and herded into more controllable human settlements, human habitation zones, near to the factories, mills, sweat shops and slave camps. A spin off of agenda 21, known as the Wildlands Project calls for most land to be wildlife habitats free of humans, except of course members of the ruling class elite, at their leisure mind you.
The International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives is charged with carrying out many of agenda 21s goals. At any given time 500 to 600 American cities and municipalities pay into this organization, at taxpayer expense of course.
While I must confess some of the paranoid brouhaha surrounding Agenda 21 appears to be overblown. The fact that Globalists and progressives are for it leaves me with grave suspicions. I am also aware that the 'feel good' lingo, under which much of the agenda is cloaked is a common globalist / progressive tactic akin to newspeak. Double talk and Newspeak permeates the U.N. documents pertaining to agenda 21. "We are determined to protect the planet from degradation, including through sustainable consumption and production, sustainably managing its natural resources and taking urgent action on climate change, so that it can support the needs of the present and future generations. " Lingo sound familiar?
In 2012 the Republican National Committee adopted a resolution stating "We strongly reject the U.N. Agenda 21 as erosive of American sovereignty". Glenn Beck, media personality, political commentator, author, and founder of TheBlaze has done some extensive research and commentary and also penned A postapocalyptic thriller based on Agenda 21 fears.
