Birth Of Lucifer

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven ?

Scriptural Accounts

The name of Lucifer conjures images of The Evil One, the Lord of Hell and its Demons. Most impartial casual observers beleive Lucifer to be The Devil. In Latin {Roman Mythology}, Lucifer was the name of the planet Venus, the light bringer. It was often personified as a male torch bearer. The ancient Greeks called Venus Phosphoros which translates to light bearer also, in some contexts Venus was Heosphoros which loosely translates to dawn bringer, which was understood to be synonymous with the morning star, Venus.

Judeo Christian Lore that has evolved into the Modern era originates primarily with a single passage, Isaiah 14:12 that equates Lucifer with the Fallen Angels.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! - King James Bible

The New International Version translates more correctly and brings Venus into the equation as

How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

Judeo Christian lore preaches that Lucifer became so obsessed with his own worth - his elegance, intelligence, power, and position that he began to crave the honor and glory that belonged to only God. Lucifer's aplomb and boastfullness represents the inception of sin in the universe long before Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden, Lucifer was cast from Heaven. In Genesis he then returns as the serpent to share his fate with Humans.

Paradise Lost Lucifer and His Angels Cast To Hell

Evolution Of Lucifer

17th-century English poet John Milton in his historic masterpiece 'Paradise Lost' illustrates the cultural migration of Venus into the Devil. In Paradise Lost, Satan, who was once called Lucifer, is the first primary character of this epic.  Milton somewhat redeems the name of Venus when he declares that Satan forfeited the title once he was tossed out of Paradise. Satan is depicted as a tragic figure whom after being cast from heaven and condemned to Hell for rebelling against GOD infamously declares: "Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" after the rebellion he no longer holds the title Venus or light bearer and the title is transferred to the Archangel Michael. The Archangel Michael becomes the Prince of Light, and Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness.

Milton's epic, in the traditional interpretation, portrays Satan as the origin of all evil.  Some contemporaries of Milton however interpret Satan as an admirable hero.  Miltons Contemporary Christian critics argue against reading Satan as a heroic figure.

Come recent times, present day Luciferians venerate him as a light bringer or guiding spirit, an illuminator some the followers of this school of thought can be called Illuminati

Encyclopedia Britanica states that "...among Satanists or Luciferians some insist that Lucifer is an entity separate from Satan", while others maintain the two titles refer to the same entity.

From the late 19th Century through the 20th and into the current century, multiple cults and quasi-religions have sprung up. Some simply wither away and vanish, while others which remain, are vibrant and expansive. Their fundamental belief systems and practices widely vary.

The non spiritual philosophy views Lucifer as symbolic of principles they wish to advocate.
The spiritualists see Lucifer as an actual entity that exists and whom they venerate and worship.

The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey depicts Lucifer as one of the four crown princes of hell.

Lucifer Today

Among the ruling elite of this planet and its dominant species [so far as we know anyway] Luciferianism, Satanism seems to have taken a strong hold.

In Rules for Radicals, the prominent American marxist Saul Alinsky wrote
in his dedication, “Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history, the first radical known to man who rebelled ... so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom – Lucifer”

Conventional Christianity and even Judaism appear to be waning under relentless and persistent attack by leftist ideologues, Atheists, Jihadis and so forth. Do assorted one time fringe elements congregate around the bubbling cauldron conspiring on the subjugation of the masses to the will of Lucifer ? See  Global Luciferian Elite

'I sold my soul to the devil' or facsimiles thereof have been catch phrases of the Hollywood elite for many decades. Some have taken this to simply mean they sold out on their moral values in order to achieve success in an industry pretty much devoid of any such standards. Others however have taken it more literally, meaning they sold their souls to Satan to achieve stardom. See Hollywood Luciferians
