Ancient Knowledge of Space Time
Vedic Relativity
Isaac Newton proved that gravity exists even though human beings had always experienced it, he was the one who first applied reason to it and developed his three laws of motion. Inertia, Acceleration, Equal and Opposite reactions.
Centuries later Einstein in his famous theory of relativity delved into 4 dimensional physics when he determined that massive objects cause a distortion in space-time, which we experience as gravity. He basically added a new dimension to the definition of gravity as well as time and space.
Many Centuries before Newton or Einstein popped into existence, the Ancient Indians, the forebears of the Hindu and Buddhist religions had an understanding of the 4th dimension that is unexplained by conventional theories of history. They believed that the duration of time was not a constant and changed from world to world and age to age, they knew it was not an absolute value.
Ancient Legends corroborate Quantum Theory
As in most religions, the deities or Gods were immortal and not bound by time as mortals were. The Mahabharata tells the story of King Raivata Kakudmi, who travels to heaven to meet the creator Brahma and is shocked to learn when he returns to Earth that many ages have passed.
Kakudmi's daughter Revati was so beautiful and so accomplished that when she reached a marriageable age, Kakudmi, thinking no one upon earth was worthy of her, went to the Creator himself, Lord Brahma, to seek his advice about a suitable husband for his daughter.
When Kakudmi arrived, Brahma was listening to a musical performance .. they waited patiently... made his request and presented his shortlist of candidates. Brahma explained that time runs differently on different planes, during the short time they had waited a massive amount of time had elapsed on Earth.
Brahma said to Kakudmi, "O King, all those whom you may have decided within the core of your heart to accept as your son-in-law have died in the course of time. Those upon whom you may have already decided are now gone, and so are their sons, grandsons and other descendants. You cannot even hear about their names." You must therefore bestow this virgin gem upon some other husband, for you are now alone, and your friends, your ministers, servants, wives, kinsmen, armies, and treasures, have long since been swept away by the hand of time.
They then returned to earth which they regarded as having left only just a short while ago. ...over the intervening 27 chatur-yugas, in the cycles of human spiritual and cultural evolution, mankind was at a lower level of development than in their own time. ...they found the race of men had become "dwindled in stature, reduced in vigor, and enfeebled in intellect."
What is fascinating about this tale is how it is so very similar to our current concepts of time. The theory of relativity states that time is relative to the observer's frame of reference and dependent on the observer's motion and governing gravity. Time on earth runs slower than in space because gravity slows its passage.
Hindu mythology was acquainted with the concept that time is relative even though they had never heard of relativity. Ancient Indian texts reflect this and continuously point out that heavenly time and earthly time differ. Many will scoff at the idea that people who come from an era many millennia ago could possibly comprehend or formulate the theories of time and physics that we at the alleged pinnacle of Human intellectual evolution have only recently arrived at. Or could it be that we at this pinnacle believe our selves at, are "dwindled in stature, reduced in vigor, and enfeebled in intellect." as Kakudmi witnessed of a previous era.
Time Travel: A New Perspective
Scattered throughout the world are objects that could not possibly belong to the time period in which they were found. A human footprint contemporary with the dinosaurs? The skeletal remains of men and women long before humanity appeared on the planet? This text shows how time travel is not only theoretically possible, but that the future generations may already be engaged in it.
The Hindu / Vedic timeline is the closest to that proposed by the modern scientific community. It states that the Big Bang was not the Genesis of the Universe but simply the beginning of the present cycle preceded by an infinite number of cycles and universes and to be succeeded by infinite cycles and universes.
Brahma's day consists of a thousand cycles during which life and the humanity are continuously purged only to re-emerge. The Purana, another ancient Indian text asserts that the Universe is created, destroyed, and re-created in eternally repetitive cycles.
The Tales of Time Travel are not exclusive to India. Tales that can be interpreted as time travel of a sorts are found in multiple cultures
The Japanese have a similar tale. A young fisherman, Urashima Taro goes to visit the protector god of the sea in his underwater palace. By his reckoning he had only been gone for three days but when he returns to his Village he discovers it has been 3 Centuries. Everything and everybody he knew was long gone.
Skipping back to opposing side of Eurasia The Irish have their own time traveler legend In Oisin. Oisin was visited by a female fairy, a daughter of the Sea God. The fairy falls in love with Oisin and takes him away to a mythical fairy land . After 3 years Oisin decides to return to Ireland, only to find that 300 years have passed.
Back across Eurasia to the southeast tip of the continent and we have the Vietnamese legend of Tu Thuc, which is remarkably similar to the previous ones. After what seemed like a short visit to a mystical wonderland the hero of the story is returned home - only to find that you can't go home and time keeps on turning into the future.
The Chinese have the tale of Ranka. In the Chinese version a woodcutter named Wang Chih comes across a pair of immortal fairies or spirits in the mountains.
He came upon the fairies in the form of peculiar old men who were playing a board game. Wang Chih was fascinated and stopped to watch. One of the players gave him a fruit to chew on, so that he felt neither hunger nor thirst. As he continued to watch he fell into a trance for what he thought was only an hour or two. But while he slept his axe handle had turned to dust and he had grown a long beard. When he returned to his home village he found everything and everyone he knew was long gone.
Quantum Theory Corroborates Ancient Legends
In the current era Quantum Physicists have been speculating the possibility of the existence of a multiverse.
This theoretical multiverse is basically a collection of possibly infinite universes that comprise all creation , everything that exists ever did exist or ever will exist. Space, time, matter and energy and anything else we have yet to discover.
The multiverse is divided into parallel universes or "alternative universes" that are created, destroyed, and re-created in eternally repetitive cycles. Is the multiverse theory proof of Modern Science catching up with ancient wisdom ?
If it is as the ancient texts state that the multiverse is divided into parallel universes or "alternative universes" that are created, destroyed, and re-created in eternally repetitive cycles could it also be that Human civilization on Earth goes through continuous repetitive cycles and that there were civilizations before our own that far surpassed us in knowledge in many arenas.
Worlds Before our Own
Modern Science dictates a lineal development of Human Society culminating at our present stage of development which has us teetering on the edge of a civilization that may someday span the cosmos or one that may self destruct and revert to a post apocalyptic primitive barbarism we associate with our distant ancestors.
Pseudo- Science seeks out holes and flaws in the archaeological and paleontological theories to assign opposing views of our past that takes into consideration anomalies both physical, mythical and theoretical that defy explanation under conventional methodology. The bulk of the pseudo-science and alternative archaeology consensus relative to ancient history leans toward ancient astronaut theories. While I do not attempt to discount these theories, many are certainly not without merit, another explanation entirely may be that a past golden age of man self destructed and reverted to a post apocalyptic primitive state that eventually re-evolved into our current civilization - teetering on the edge of greatness, extinction or re-evolution.
All civilizations that can be traced into pre-history have phantasmagorical tales of this hypothetical past golden age of man, some have tales of more than one age of man.
The Hopi Indians believe we are in the fourth age of man and awaiting the fifth age - which will be a period of purification. They also have tales of being saved from the great deluge by a mysterious ant-like race. The "Anu-Sinom" were their name for this race Anu = Ant, Sinom = People. The Hopi word for friends is Naki. Thus Anu-Naki would be Ant friends - although they referred to them as the Anu-Sinom or ant people. Some theorists speculate that Anu-Naki is just as appropriate and is synonymous with the Sumerian sky people - the Annunaki. See Hopi Ant People.
The ancient Greeks, those lofty philosophers of the ancient World, had accounts of cyclical and successive ages of human civilization. They tell of an original age of man reminiscent of Eden, an earthly paradise in which humans lived in symbiosis with the divine that degraded over subsequent generations to the state of man in the era of ancient Greece's golden age from our perspective. Hesiod [circa 700 BC], a greek poet / philiosopher cited 5 successive ages of humanity while The Roman poet Ovid [ Circa 1 BC] cited four.
Ancient Atomic Warfare
Many of these tales of a hypothetical past golden age of man and of its destruction can be somewhat validated by physical evidence. Mohenjo - Daro, a ancient city unearthed at the beginning of the 20th Century has been cited as a possible remnant of an ancient nuclear war. Parts of Mohenjo - Daro are fused and melted in a manner that only extremely high temperatures can achieve. There is no evidence of any volcanic activity, heat this intense can only be explained by a nuclear blast or similar other unknown force.
Scientists have also found a strictly outlined epicenter, where everything was leveled. Devastation lessened towards the outskirts. Dozens of skeletons were found in the area of Mohenjo-Daro, their radioactivity exceeded the norm by almost 50 times. See - Nuclear Warfare in Ancient India.
Artifacts from the Past Golden Age of Man
Other indications of a past golden age of man are scattered about the Indian sub-continent as well as the rest of the World.
Adams bridge is an enigmatic under sea formation that runs between India and the Island of Sri Lanka [Ceylon] in the Indian Ocean. In the modern era its existence was brought to light via NASA imagery which appears to show a submerged bridge connecting the two land masses. Hindu lore has stated that this strip of shoals was actually a bridge built by their prince Rama and is described in the Hindu epic the The Ramayana
. It has been referred to since antiquity as "Rama's Bridge" or Rama Setu. See - Adams Bridge
In addition to Ramas Bridge there is also Maduruoya Dam on the Island of Sri Lanka. When Modern engineers wanted to build a Dam at Maduru Oya in Sri Lanka bulldozers began to unearth and scrape against the brickwork of a previous Dam that had been at the exact spot. Further investigation revealed that engineers of antiquity had made identical calculations and had built a Dam at the exact spot. The original Dam was calculated to be roughly 100 feet high and 300 feet long and is considered a masterpiece of ancient hydro engineering. Some scholars hypothesize that the Dam and accompanying water works, which include sluices many miles long was the work of the veddas people, an indigenous race of Sri Lanka. The Veddas are thought to be descended from the ancient Yakkha people of the mythical- perhaps Historical Rama Empire. See - Maduruoya Dam - Advanced Civilization in Prehistory
Evidence of Advanced metallurgy is also found. The 22 foot tall Iron Pillar of Delhi. Believed to have been cast in the 3rd century B.C., it has resisted all rust and even a direct artillery hit in the 1700s, no modern metals can compare.
