Climate Change Global Warming and the Millions made from it
Climate Change has been very lucrative for Al Gore. Gore and business partner David Blood, onetime CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, co-founded Generation Investment Management (GIM). In a few short years they had produced nearly $218 million in profits. Gore used $35 million of this to invest with Capricorn Investment Group founded by Canadian billionaire Jeffrey Skoll, who was part of the team that produced 'An Inconvenient Truth', the Global warming propaganda flick, rife with inconvenient errors and distortions. This cinematic trash won 1. A Nobel Prize 2. An Oscar and 3. Grammy.
The former vice president's global warming activism has helped increase his net worth from $700,000 in 2000 to an estimated net worth of $172.5 million by 2015. [7]
In An Inconvenient Truth Gore predicted that ice melt would lead to coastal flooding and that Manhattan could eventually be submerged. In 1998 he predicted that the 'entire North Polar ice cap' could be gone in five years. Lets see now, for any intellectually challenged liberals, it is now 2017 and another of his bogus predictions are not even close to fruition, the only thing that's all wet is Al Gore and anyone dumb enough to fall in line behind him. In fact there is evidence that the Arctic ice is thicker than it has been in 75 years. [5]
The distortions and lies of 'Inconvenient Truth' are mind boggling, in fact no serious intellectual will even attempt to defend them, not among other intellectuals that is. Leftarded intelligentsia will however continue to blast the blasphemy at the unprepared and ill equipped public.
British Judge Michael Burton ruled in 2007 that An Inconvenient Truth contained at least 'key scientific errors' [1] and could only be shown in British schools with 'guidance notes' so as to avoid political indoctrination of impressionable young students.
1. Gore claimed that Pacific atolls 'are being inundated because of anthropogenic global warming' but, at the time of the ruling and up to right now, there is no evidence of any evacuation having occurred, or of any Pacific Islands or tiny atolls being submerged.
2. Gore claimed that a catastrophic sea level rise of 20 feet would be caused by Antarctica and or Greenland. He never gave a time-frame for this, just stated 'In the near future'.
3. An inconvenient Truth basically engaged in alarmism with its speculative claims that the Gulf Stream would be shut down global warming. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) didn't even go that far. The British court that ruled against the Gore flick stated that it was very unlikely that the Meridional Overturning Circulation, would shut down in the foreseeable future.
4. Mt Kilimanjaro was used as an example of Global Warming by Gore. Using imagery he stated 'This is Mount Kilimanjaro in 1970 with its fabled snows and glaciers. Here it is just 30 years later - with far less ice and snow.' Some have claimed he used pictures taken in winter for the first and summer for the later. In either event the shrinking ice on Kilimanjaro is not necessarily attributable to Climate Change as per the Scientific Community. There are 2 possible scenarios ... 'One possibility is that ice disappears due to melting because of rising temperatures. This is favoured by the study group around Lonnie Thompson. The other possibility is that ice disappears only by sublimation, not by melting, and that it disappears because of reduced snowfall, so that the ice surface is less white and absorbs more of the sun's radiation. This is favoured by the study group around Georg Kaser. ...It is not settled what explanation is most correct, which means that it can not be said for certain that the disappearance of the ice cap is due to global warming, and it can not be said for certain that it is not due to global warming.'[3]
5. Gore Stated 'Coral reefs all over the world because of global warming and other factors are bleaching . . All the fish species that depend on the coral reef are also in jeopardy as a result.' There is no consensus on whether or not the bleaching of coral reefs in particular Australia's Great Barrier reef is climate change related. It has gone through episodes of bleaching in the recent past, 1998, 2002 and 2016 are recorded instances. Delving back into History there have undoubtedly been many undocumented instances and it is not established if this is cyclical in nature or due to the sky falling or climate change.
6. Gore stated in 2006 'unless drastic measures to reduce greenhouse gases are taken within the next 10 years, the world will reach a point of no return.' Alas poor Al Gore, the Earth hasn't warmed in about 20 years. As per alarmists 2015 supposedly 'smashed' previous temperature records. But in reality it was ... 'not even close to the hottest year on record,' [6]
The list of Al Gores lies, inaccuracies, omissions and distortions of fact could go on and on, but why bother.
